Serena works and I work

I absolutely cannot stand to watch or listen to one more word of politics.  And I only watch the weather once a day!  So I have barricaded myself in my room and am watching the US Open on my iPad.

Here is the beginning of the pumpkin basket.  See how nice and straight the spokes are?

Here they are after weaving - a little droopy because even though I TRIED not to pull down on the weaving thread it's hard.  Because as you slide the weaving threads together it just wants to do that.  She's just  got to be careful not to drop the pumpkins out of the basket! BECAUSE I AM NOT MAKING HER ANOTHER BASKET!

And here are the wirelace leaves.  They were a lot easier than the bats.  Two more stems to go.  None of mine look alike :-/  Bullions are not my thing.  I think Serena beat her opponent in the same time it took me to do 3.

Here's hoping my friends are having fun at Seminar!

Weather Fatigue

Yesterday we were scared indoors by what looked like a big lazy daisy stitch on the weather map.

Thankfully nothing happened in the weather department.  School was NOT cancelled for Emily and I got some work in on witch #5.  I did the hair and the hat, and today am going to work on the yellow hair bow and the pumpkin basket. Sooner or later I have to do the bullion stems on those pumpkins :/)

Calling Fall!

I am desperately trying to place a call to Fall!!  While I love red, white and blue.... and pink and green ...I am ready to turn back to brown, rust and gold.  I plan to finish the Halloween Parade and just dug up...

Vintage 2011!  I got this from Bestitched in a flurry of "got to have it" and of course never finished it.

Good thing it's small :-)

Have a great week,

Linda

The Flowers Are All Done

 Doing the Happy Dance :-)

Spring Flowers

Hi there,

I think the bunny may have surfaced for the last time and is going to get finished.  Here's my work from yesterday.

And the sky

Yes, there are 3 more (as in Summer, Fall and Winter)  and I hope they don't take 10 years each to do or I will be in my 90s when I finish :/)

Have a wonderful week,

Linda

Way Off Base

Hi there,

I'm loving the Olympics especially since most of the time I already know who won so I can watch with my eyes open.   It's a nice break from the political news for sure.  I have gone from CNN to MSNBC to FOX and now am on to Joel Osteen (at least he is positive).  A friend of mine said yesterday..."can't the Olympics just keep going until November?"...  That would sure be nice.

All week I have felt like yelling at the candidates to just GO AWAY.   Sort of like when your dog doesn't want people in the house.  So I pulled out the next best thing - Felting!  Maybe some good stabbing is the ticket :-)

My stitching friends all want me to finish this anyway.  This even pre-dates Lisa's magnets, LHM.

Have a great weekend,

Linda

Banana Peels

Good Morning,

Our local needlepoint shop is doing a monthly club of beaded fruit.  I just finished my banana.  These are fun and easy. Once you get the pattern down you're on cruise control.

Here are the "peels"

and a close up of the pattern

And a finished one

There are 12 in all.  Support our shop if you love these too  ...

Absolutely Needlepoint in Miami, Florida :-)

Have a great week and don't forget to pick out your Olympics stitching!
