Easter Egg Finish

Hi all,

Here's my first egg.  I think it turned out great.  I spent a lot of time compensating the background around the flowers when I should have just done it as charted since the ribbon covers it.  Lesson learned!  On to the next one...

Easter in Progress

Had to put away my Halloween Houses for a few weeks.  Plus I was craving PINK and BLUE thread!  Just the ribbon work left and some touch up on the background.

Should I read, needlepoint or enter another dog show?

I've been reading reading reading lately mainly because I've had a cold and am forcing myself to stay home.  Here's the first sentence of my new book

Under certain circumstances there are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.

What a sentence...probably most of my friends would substitute needlepoint for tea 😀

Melissa Shirley Halloween House #1 (there are 5).  The stitch guides are easy but stitching dark on dark is always hard for me

Kitting up #11 of the 12 days of Christmas....Once I get the gold border in it's pretty straightforward.  Only 2 left!

And in case you haven't guessed the first quiz,  I'm reading Portrait of a Lady.  One of the best things about not majoring in English in college is that you have all this wonderful reading to do later on 😀

A Finish and an Almost Finished

Hi everyone,



This one has been over 30 years in my stash.  It wasn't until I found Planet Earth Wool that I decided to work on it.  Sometimes it's just waiting for the right fiber to be created.

This one's not quite as old -the stitch guide says 2004!  I'm almost done and I think I will put some ground in underneath the house.  So I will have to get some overdye and create some dirt!

Lords a' Leaping

Hi all,

I've been stitching in secret so there hasn't been any blogging lately.  Plus, I had to do a major upgrade to my phone (which is also my camera).   I got an Apple watch for Christmas and when I tried to pair it with my phone I think it LAUGHED at me!  So there has been quite a technology learning curve here.

Like everyone I have a wish list of canvases that I want to finish this year and the 12 days of Christmas are at the top of the list.  I only have 2 left!!!

For some reason I had a ton of trouble with this border so I'm glad it's done

 I found these little gems in a box from when we moved so I want to finish these 3 this year.  I've already done October and March.   The bottom borders are awesome.

 I stopped here because I hate doing turkey work and that's called for on the cuff and the bottom of the coat.  I think I'll try the turkey work on the cuff and put french knots on the coat.  Anything to get it done.

Elf Christmas Banner

Hi All,

Just finished my Christmas Banner which as of right now is the ONLY banner in my stitching group.  That will probably change, but at least I'm out in front.  I'm going to try and stitch Christmas canvases during December and finish up some things to send off in January. 2018 is going to be a finishing year in my house - it's starting to pile up in the finished canvases drawer.

Here are some photos.   I think my friends were more impressed by the beaded letters than anything else.  It does look cool with three different color beads.  I was impressed that I was able to "scatter" the snowflakes randomly.  Go figure.  Also, there were 47! rows of T-stitch under their feet.  That was a challenge!!

If I don't get back, everyone have a Merry Christmas!
