Sunday Progress Report

Hi there,

Those squiggles are "bead bridges" on the black cape.  No kidding - everything about this piece is over the top.

After that,  I went on to finish the jack o lanterns.  She is holding the 6th one and since I have completed the hill, I did the little pumpkins too.

And her hand - there was a brief panic when I couldn't find the cream thread.  I had to double check that I put in 5 fingers.

I then managed to cut the one pom pom I had in half correctly! (As in straight across rather than crooked)  I decided I had ONE shot at the bullion since I'm not sure I would have been able to take it out from the pompom to re-do it without messing it up. And who knows where I would get another one of those?  So the little cat pull toy is done.

This week I am going to do her hair and her hat and move on to the sections that I skipped.  Which are probably the worst and hardest ones!  I do see a light at the end of this tunnel!!

The Week of the Black Cat

Hi there,

This is what I finished last night.  I just HAD to put the buttons on the cart!  Next up is the striped blanket with the pumpkin on top and the highlights on his fur.

And So It Begins AGAIN

This was where I left off 2 years ago! and so I will start here and work backwards until it's complete.  This Home Study had 8 lessons which were supposed to take 1 month of work each.  It's hard to keep up that kind of momentum for 8 months, but I've had a nice long break.

This lesson (#8) was the final witch and the cat pull toy - the cat is being pulled by the witch with the green dress.  I'm going to give myself the month of August to finish this lesson and maybe some wrap-up on previous lessons.

Should be fun!

Sunday wrap-up and Moving On

Hi there,

This is the last flower (bud).  I re-did this at least 4 times this morning until I realized that if I didn't quit I would run out of thread.  So I'm just going to do a little fill in and call it a WRAP!

One more bird and this is off to the framer - OH YEAH!

And then I am going back to the Pumpkin Parade!

More Orange and Yellow Flowers

And you know what this means?  That I am almost done!  

One more diamond and two birds to do!!!

Three Birds on a Branch

Hi there,

I was tired of looking at yellow basting thread, so just to see what the finished project will look like I decided to put in the long stitches that outline the diamonds.  Looking good!

I also finally chose the kreinik for the the little bird legs and beaded the last bird on the upper right section of the canvas.   So this section is done!

This leaves the lower right section with the tall flowers to do next, which I will tackle this week.  Shouldn't be too bad since I did the background already.

After this is done there is only one more diamond to stitch and 2 birds and then I should be done with this project.

This has been in my closet for 2 years and looks like I will be able to finish it with only 4-5 weeks of work.  Maybe I should try this again 😊
