Finally a Finish

Hi there,

I was beginning to think I would never finish anything this year!  The Pumpkin Parade takes up all the attention and oxygen in the room (sort of like our leading Republican candidate), so just a little time is left at the end of the month for other projects.

Here's the 8th day of Christmas.  Yes, that's a maid a milking :-)

and a close up of the bridle ...thank you Lisa!

On to Iowa!

Have a great week,

Freezing..But Can't Complain

Hi there,

Yesterday we spent the day indoors because it was freezing (by our standards) plus we had super strong winds so no boating or flying.  I decided to do mop up work on the Pumpkin Parade working left to right.  One of the things I have put off is the bats flying across the moon.  Oh, the instructions were so easy!  My execution was not.  Well, I'm leaving them in for now - I'll either get used to them or do them over at the end.

Have a great week,

Linda

It's a Why Fit In Weekend

Hi there,

I just got lesson #4 for Why Fit In and since I haven't looked at it in a coons age I decided to dig it up.  Just looking for a few days break from the Pumpkin Parade.

Here's where I left her/him (still haven't decided on the gender).  I'm pretty sure it was the background green leaves that wore me down - they sure did last night.  But, we were advised not to do anything until the leaves were done because they need to LINE UP.  Plus, you need to be able to count... and apparently I have trouble counting to 11.  Hopefully any miscounting will disappear when the rest is stitched.

Have a great weekend,

Linda

Just Can't Get Off My Soapbox

Hi there,

I went to a SEC school (Vandy) so you can imagine who I was routing for last night...Bama of course.  Although I did feel sorry for Clemson in the end.  But it was a great evening to needlepoint.

Here's Emily's reaction to the whole thing around half time.  Maybe she was dreaming about meeting the Georgia Bulldog in person :-)

Here's the skirt on witch #2.  I'm calling it my "Roll Tide" skirt cause that's what made it happen last night

And here's my soapbox photo.  We were watching the news tonight about the latest ISIS bombings and I said...I think we've been there!!!  So out came the photo album...no iPhone then

And so we were... in another life, another time... only 10 maybe 12 years ago. That baby there is turning 27 in a few weeks.   So carefree we were. (Not to mention, thin)

Let's pray to solve this worldwide horror.

Tonight is SOU so more stitching on the Parade.

Enjoy,

Linda

Yes I Practiced This

Hi there,

And yes I did celebrate Christmas, but apparently didn't have time to post.  We are still putting it all away, but I am back to working on the Pumpkin Parade in all it's glory.  Tonight's big project was putting the ribbon on the hat on witch #1.  I did practice with some "stash" ribbon even though I had done this before.

My new go-to ribbon tool..if you are a girl, or have girls, you have one of these at home in one of your bathrooms.  It's perfect for ironing delicate ribbon.

and here's the result

I think it came out pretty well.  Still have to finish the background before I do the bats.

Lesson #4 has been shipped :-)

Happy stitching,

Linda
