Finally I Finished Something!

Hi all,

We are still moving in although we have passed the point where its 24/7 unpacking.  I'm waiting on a new bookcase to be built so I can finish my sewing room/office- hopefully that will happen this month.

All summer I've been basketweaving a chair for our clubhouse dining room.  Let me tell you, I have WAY more respect for people who needlepoint all their dining room chairs.  I'm only doing one and it's not easy to stay excited about it.  We refer to it as the "beast" but actually it's a hogfish.  I have had  a lot of consultation on the colors for this fish as I had only seen one on my plate!  Good thing I have friends who dive.

Here's the Kelly Clark ornament that is one of two that go with the North Pole Amy Home Study.  Just finished this today!  Yea!!  At least I was able to use my brain on this one.

Here's a view of my new back yard - no mowing here!

And my new book - awesome Pulitzer Prize winner last year.  Just had to read it in the forest!  My husband bought me the coolest bench.  Not sure where Emily is in this picture - probably chasing rabbits.  She has definitely died and gone to heaven - me too.

Have a great Thursday - my next finish is a scarf I've been working on forever.  It's so cool here I can wear it around my neck while I knit.  I can hear my friends - "get back to the fish!"

xoxo

March Strawberry

Here's my latest strawberry finish.  This has been a wonderful series and I only have one left which is sad.  Usually I'm really over a series by the time I get to the last one but this time I could just keep on going!

I'm going to keep on plugging away at several projects.  I'm still trying to get my stitching groove back after my big move and finishing ANYTHING big or small is an accomplishment!

I Haven't Died- Just Moving!

Hi there,

I just took a look at my blog and realized that I haven't posted in 2 months!!  I have the greatest excuse though...we are moving from our home of 35 years and every spare moment is spent packing and sorting.  When you live in a too big house for too long you accumulate a ton of stuff and ours seemed to be in every closet.  The dog's stuff was in 3 closets.  I took some of her old baby toys out today and she just sniffed at them...as in not interested, Mom!

It took quite a while to sort through my needlepoint as you can imagine and now its all in boxes.  I left a few out to work on this summer while we look for a new home in North Carolina.

Row of Ladies II

I started on the background since that doesn't really require any brain cells and when I do regenerate some of those I have 3 girls left to do.

Have a great weekend!

Motivation To Do Another House

I have my first Valentine House back from the finisher and it's so sweet that I'm ready to finish another!  I had this finished as an easel back since there are more than one.

House #2

Here's the Christmas ornament that jumped out at me over the weekend.  Stitch guide by Lori Carter.

And while I was boxing up my stuff I decided to look at my grandmother's silver and found this candy dish.  I think it shows the strawberries off much better.

 See you soon!

My Two Latest Strawberries Have Arrived!

Hi there,

These are the most awesome little projects ever!

Happy together!

And how all four look in my grandmother's candy dish.

There was more finishing in the box but that's for tomorrow

See you soon

Finally the Internet is Back on!

Hi all,

Sorry about not posting but we have been without internet for DAYS.  It's sort of comforting that 150 other homes were without it too but when you see 5 trucks at the end of the street working day and night you know it's serious.

I have been stitching but since I like to stitch while streaming video it was sort of slow going.

Here's my latest strawberry.  It's going to sit right here in Miami where at least we are above freezing rather than head off to South Dakota for finishing!

And a close up of the buzzing bees and their skep

I feel sort of bad saying I'm freezing when it's 56 degrees outside but I am!

First Finish 2019!

Hi there,

Behold my first finish of the year!  I hope I can accomplish as much finishing as I did last year while keeping up with my reading.  I have an exhausting list of projects to complete and books to read.  I am not an Audible person (even though I have an account).  I just can't seem to concentrate on needlepoint and being read to at the same time.

Plus, we are preparing to move which means assessing your STUFF which is very illuminating.  Try putting all your stitching in one room and taking a good look. It's almost scary.  I already have a bag of canvases that are moving on.  Marie Kondo, the Japanese girl who is the de-clutter queen says "ask yourself if it gives you joy" when looking at your possessions and while all my canvases are very pretty, not all of them give me "joy".  Besides that,  I would have to live to 110 to finish them all!

So here's to new beginnings!

Tuesday Has Been Cancelled

 Hi there,

Once again I am starting off the year with a cold!  So Tuesday has been cancelled and I will stay home and rest. I had great plans last night to stitch away on my Valentine House while watching The Clemson-Alabama game but I only made it to half time before I collapsed.  Around 2 am when I finally woke up I checked the score and I guess it was pretty sad after the third quarter.

I did manage to finish the sky and so today will try and do the rest of the beading and put some accentuate in the windows.  Then I will make a plan for tomorrow which will probably involve something green!

Late Arrival

Happy New Year!

This was my last finishing arrival of 2018 but it sure is pretty.

This is one of the Amy Christmas singles club canvases and while I love the look of Jessicas I do NOT like reading the diagrams!

I've got a few more strawberries to finish up and half a Valentine House to do next!  Then I need to really look at my huge projects and pick one to finish in 2019.  That seemed to work for me last year. I'm leaning towards Row of Ladies - I just love that piece!  And of course the gingerbread house Oh My!

See you soon
