My Kind of Mystery

Hi there,

This is my kind of mystery class!  Lady No.1 took about three evenings of stitching (I almost said "work", but it was so pretty and fast it hardly qualifies as work).  I especially love the beaded flounce on the bottom of her dress.  So Ruth!

Head Shot

Beaded skirt

And my new favorite scissors which happened to be in my drawer ...Premax.  Wow,  this is where the saying "a hot knife through butter" comes from!

Need to finish my Why Fit In homework and get back to the Stitching Girls!

Happy Wednesday!

I Broke Down...You knew I would

Hi there,

I'm taking a break from looking at every outfit Duchess Kate wears in Australia, to post!  I had the best of intentions...really I did, but spending every evening doing background and borders on the stitching girls was getting a little slow.

Just in time the ladies arrived!

Here's the bottom of her dress

I briefly flirted with finishing the background of the Candyland Trees, but came to my senses, plus the snow is hard to do because the thread keeps shredding.

I AM making progress on the firecrackers though.  Here's a before and after shot.

Before Beads

After Beads

Two to go!

Happy Stitching,

Linda

Stuck in the Middle

Hi there,

I'm stuck in the middle of a lot of projects right now and would like to MOVE ON!  Ever felt that way? Reminds me of college when I got the the middle of a term paper and I had to push myself to the end.

I only have 3 more firecrackers - here's the middle of the first of those three.  This is an easy one - the red stripes are ribbon done in Van Dyke - very pretty.  Naturally stars go on top of the blue!

Here's the one just missing the border.  I didn't have big silver stars like in the finished picture so I just sprinkled little ones

And here's the killer.  I need to finish this so I can move on to Row of Ladies II which is coming next week.  I just have this corner left, plus some odds and ends.

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Crazy Quilt Firecracker

Hi there,

I'm trying an experiment today.  Are the pictures from your phone as good as (or better than) the pictures from your camera?

My iPhone

my camera

Gee,  it's a toss up.

Here's a picture of Emily's sister from her litter (her twin ?- is there such a thing with dogs?) that I took with my phone from the tv on the night of the Westminster Dog Show. Best of Breed.  Emily really does look like this :)  Boy,  I was lucky to get one when I did.  We will aspire to look like this on Wednesday when we go to the groomer!  Wouldn't I love to be from a little town called Hempstead, Texas!

Are You Ready?

That's a loaded question...

Are you ready for summer?.....  It's coming to you - already here in Miami

Are you ready for the NBA playoffs?....not yet!  Seems like we just did that!

Are you ready for your bathing suit?  Definitely not yet!

But most of all...Are you ready for Game of Thrones Season 4....Oh yes!!!

I have quite a few eclectic tastes - Amazon cannot quite get an algorithm on me... she likes agility dogs, needlepoint, basketball, Candy Crush and Game of Thrones?  I think the only pattern is mathematical complexity - even with Game of Thrones you REALLY need to  study it to know what is going on.

I have my stitching all ready for next season which starts on Sunday

Seven Swans a Swimming.  Got tons to do here

The Crazy Quilt Firecracker...don't get excited, I'm not going in order (this is the last one)

And I still need to finish my Flake - hate the nose...it's coming out.  But the fringe can stay.  I'm working the pesky Prisms in quadrants to keep my sanity.

Enjoy your weekend!

Is This The Year?

Hi everyone,

Is this the year I finish the Stitching Club?  It's a Melissa Shirley canvas of 5 stitching ladies - I don't want to know when I took the class so don't go there.  Here's Lady number 5 with her retro wavy hair done in chain stitch with 2 strands of impressions.  I want to do the Row of Ladies No 2 from Ruth so I have it in my mind to finish this row of ladies first!  I'm about 2/3 done.

Last week I put in the first stitches of Why Fit In.  She looks like she's wearing glasses right now because I haven't filled in the eyes.  It took me a while to make them even since I was stitching upside down!

Her back feathers went faster

Now, I'm not sure if this is a girl bird or not - I actually have seen some guys on South Beach dress like this.

Have a great week,

Linda
